My dear friends, watchers and visitors,

It's more than overdue, that I get myself posting again here on Deviantart, since the last one published is now more than a year old!

Mainly to real life interference, I didn't find the time nor the calm to show you something new. However that doesn't mean our Steampunk paused in the same time as well. Quiet on the contrary!

We had so many wonderful shoots and where very busy in what sparetime we had, to create new stuff.
There are tons of awesome pictures collected over the last one and a half year, waiting to be shared with you. Some of them, showing different sides of us you haven't seen before, but all definitly great (if I may say so myself).

Also many new props and contraptions came into being and those as well, shall be presented to you.

I will try to bring them to you on a regular basis again, so stay tuned.
For starters I will break the silence with one of my most favourite pictures...

Before I have to celebrate the first anniversary of my last journal entry, I guess I better relate some news.. ;)

Especially when there are far better things to celebrate!
First of all, pageviews just passed the 20.000 line! :woohoo:
Thank you all for your ongoing interest in my work!
I really appreciate it, since like everyone else, I enjoy it, to see that our creations are noticed and liked, which fuels our motivation to do more.
I'm happy about every view and fave I get. Though I might not have the time to thank every one specifically, be asured that I always take a look who faved or watched me, because I really do take an interest in who you are and take a peak at your works in return!
I also try to keep the practice of at least leaving a Lama as a small token of my gratitude.

Fitting for this occasion, I'm very happy to announce that a maker interview with me has gone online at the Pandora Society's website: thepandorasociety.com/arsenal-…

Mindy Hood was so kind to approach me for this quite a while ago and had the patience to wait as long as it took me (ages!) to get back at her.
This interview was really a pleasure, especially since it gave me an extended opportunity to elaborate on my view and approach to Steampunk, important to me (and hopefully at least a bit interesting for any reader).
Seeing this published by the venerable Pandora Society is a great honour, for which I am Mindy very grateful!

Finally released!

"Das große Steampanoptikum" is a fantastic journey through the german Steampunk scene.
Wonderfully illustrated with 176 pages full of great pictures in glossy colours.

Steampanoptikum by Arsenal-Best

It features a broad spectrum through the german Steampunkery may it be makers, writers, musicians or anything in between.
And even for someone in the scene, I was amazed about the richness of this collection.
For someone just interested in Steampunk this book also is a perfect entry to get an overview about the wide variety what steampunk can be (and achieve).

It makes me proud to say, that both Ms. Jules H. Aetherton and myself had the honour to be featured in this book as well.
You can imagine how excited we were. :woohoo: :woohoo:

It's available directly from the publisher www.roterdrache.org/catalog/pr…
or through amazon.de as well.

Steam on and progress!

Dear fellow deviants,

I'm well aware, that I've neglected you a lot in the past months (evenmore than with my usual slow publishing rate).
To make good, I've decided to compensate you with a daily picture run all through the month of february!

This means, that you will get a new pic every day!

Also, my early followers might have been missing more pictures of props, compared to how I started on Deviantart.
Again, this will be remedied as well, because at least half of the upcoming pictures will be props and costumeparts. Even some WIPs.

I'll start the run today with a very special gem, I've been saving for a special occasion: a genuine wet plate collodium picture taken by renowned artist Mr.Flawless ambrotypist from Paris (mrflawless.eu/en)!

Isn't this a magnificent marvel of modern 1850's technology?

I hope you will enjoy the run and please feel free to comment or critic. It is always very much appreciated.

Yours truly
Arsenal Best

BTW:
I just started a donation pool for achieving a premium membership, that enables some nice features, that might make you experiencing my work more pleasurable and easy.
Since we are nearing a 100 Deviations posted, this might help, to prevent, that you miss some artworks, you might be interested in or are connected to other deviations and so on.
So if you have some loose change in points, feel free to drop it into the pool.
It will be very much appreciated.
